Bel-Ray Press Release- Weekend Racing Recap

Racing motorcycles has always been a critical part of Bel-Ray’s line of performance lubricants. Over the years, Bel-Ray has supported National and World Champions in various aspects of racing. This season, Bel-Ray is supporting many top teams and racers around the world.
Moto2 racing took place this weekend in Mugello, Italy and the Tech3 team of Bradley Smith and Mike DiMeglio competed. Coming off of podium finishes in the last 2 rounds,  Smith was able to put his front row starting position to good use. He was involved in a 3 way fight for the lead the entire race and even took the lead with just 3 laps to go. Smith was passed for the lead as the race came to a conclusion and finished 3rd place in the event. His fine finish pushed him into 3rd place in the season’s points standings for the world championship. Teammate DiMeglio has been struggling for the last several races and worked his way from a 35th place starting position to 24th by the end of the race. The series has a one week break before returning to action in Germany on July 17th.
In AMA National motocross racing, TwoTwo Motorsports / Bel-Ray Racing’s Chad Reed recovered from last weekends 3rd place overall finish with an excellent ride in the heat of Michigan. In a true test of man and machine, Reed endured extreme temperatures to take the win in the first moto followed up with a 3rd in the second moto for a 1st place overall finish and an increase in his points lead. He now holds a 16 point lead heading into the next round I n Minnesota on July 16th.
In World Grand Prix MX1 racing, TM Factory Racing rider Tanel Leok had a rough weekend with 14-30 moto finishes for 18th overall this past weekend in Uddevella, Sweden. He retains 13th overall in the season’s points standings heading to Germany this weekend.
TM Factory Racing teammate Thomas Chareyre used his consistent 2-4-2 race finishes to take 2nd overall in the Supermoto World Championship event held in Andorra. He holds a 2 point lead in the series’ standings heading into the next event on August 28th in Italy. 
In Australia, Round 7 of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mx Nationals took place at the Lincoln Causeway in Wodonga,VIC, Australia and the Bel-Ray backed Axis 07 team placed well. In Pro Lites racing, Justin McDonald was 6th overall, Cody Mackie was 8th and Keiron Hall was 10th overall. Teammate Dylan Peterson was 8th  overall in the Under 19s class.
