18/06/2011 – The Mtech Ferrari 458 Italia of Duncan Cameron and Matt Griffin headed the timesheets in the first practice session for this weekends British GT round. The 2-hour race takes place on Sunday afternoon.

Second is the Hector Lester/Allan Simonsen Ferrari 430 Scuderia, which was initially fastest in a session broken up by two red flags. The first was called when the RPM Ford GT of Peter Bamford and FIA GT race winner Thomas Mutsch ended up in the gravel at Paddock Hill with 45 minutes still to run. When the track was reopened the Mtech team soon posted the fastest time.

Initially the Gregor Fisken/Tim Bridgman Trackspeed Porsche held third but fell back as their rivals sped up as the session progressed. A second red flag was called when the 22 GT Racing Aston Martin DBRS 9 of Tom Alexander and Adrian Wilmott hit the inside barrier on the exit of Graham Hill bend.

Taking third pace in the late stages was the Scuderia Vittoria Ferrari 458 Italia of Michael Lyons and Charles Bateman, with the Chad Racing Ferrari 430 of Tom Ferrier and Iain Dockerill in fourth and the CRS Racing Ferrari 458 of Jim and Glenn Geddie fifth as Ferraris dominated the top five, the first car from another manufacturer being the sixth-placed Aston Martin DBRS 9 of Beechdean Motorsport.
