Bogdanka Honda’s James Ellison will be looking to bag his first World Supersport podium at this weekend’s Motorland Aragon round after backmarkers spoilt his chances of a result at Misano.

The Kendal man says his team have made massive improvements to the CBR600 campaigns, although they won’t say what, and Ellison tested at the track, albeit in freezing conditions, over the winter so he at least knows in which direction it runs.

?We have a lot of good things from the Misano round to take to Aragon. I love it, we went testing there in winter, but it was freezing, snowing in the morning. All the same, I loved the track because it is really good fun and from the testing times that Chaz Davies did last week there, we should be about the same. So I am quite confident about going there,” said Ellison.

“Misano was a bit disappointing because we knew all weekend we had podium pace and showed it. The first two guys went away quite quickly but the battle for third was close and hectic. Then the backmarkers got in the way between me, Chaz and the rest of the group, and just didn’t move over when they saw the blue flags. That ruined our race and I’m a bit disappointed about that but we’ve made a massive improvement with the bike.”
