F.Y.I. National Info Update & more….posted July 6, 2011
Lots of activity has been going on at the Dunes, as our wet and chilly spring has now converted into a hot
and drier summer. Frank and the boys are much more content with turning on the watering system for
controlling the ground moisture than allowing Mother Nature to dump down excessive amounts of water!
We hosted our 1st.-ever ATV/UTV Festival on June 26th. and it turned out to be a very active and unique
day for 4-wheel enthusiasts! They competed in some mudbog racing, ATV motocross racing, a challenging
obstacross courseplus on-going trail tour ride thatwas being enjoyed by all participants.
We were excited in being able to invite side-by-side drivers out to this event, as it was the one and only time
that we have been able to do so. UTV’s are otherwise not allowed on the property to ride onthe trackor the
trail system.
Now for those seeking some more 4×4off-road activities, we wanna get the word out of this weekend’s Truck
MudBog happening at the Walton Raceway, located just outside of Seaforth and only a short drive north of
London. July 9 & 10 is their weekend of off-road fun. Check it out….more details available at:
Gopher Dunes is open this week from Tuesday through to Sunday, July 10 for leisure riding. On weekdays we
open at 11am till 8:30pm and charge a fee of $ 20 per rider. And on Saturday and Sunday we will be open from
11am to 6pm and the weekend fee is $ 25 per rider. Camping is allowed at a rate of $ 10 per night per vehicle.
We will be closed effective Monday, July 11 and all next week in preparation for theMonster EnergyPro
National Race weekend.
With 4 rounds of the western leg of the 2011 National Tour now in the rear view mirror, the racers have a couple
weeks hiatus before theyarriveto the gnarly sands of Gopher Dunes forRound 5. This weekend event will
unfold on Canada’s Toughest National on July 17 where theexcitement will continue to mountin huntfor the
MX1 & MX2 title contenders?! Our Gopher Dunes Race Team members will be in bar-to-bar battle with some
of the Nations top champions…..so we’ll be rooting for our boys: Nathan Bles from Varna, Ontario & Topher
Ingalls reigning from California as they show us what they’ve got battling it out on home turf!
