Vancouver Riots After Loss In 2011 Stanley Cup Finals

Although the Vancouver Canucks didn't win the Stanley Cup, some of their fans decided that it worthwhile enough to riot like it was 1994.

The Old Spice Guy Is Rooting For The Vancouver Canucks

Unless you have been under a rock, you have probably seen an Old Spice commercial featuring Isaiah Mustafa or the man that you wished your man could smell like.

Recently, Mustafa was in the great white north for a promotional tour and decided to show some love towards the Stanley Cup finalist, Vancouver Canucks:

The Vancouver Canucks have a stranglehold on the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals with another close victory last night over the Boston Bruins.

Less than fifteen seconds into overtime of a scoreless game, Vancouver's Alex Burrows stole the puck and made a beautiful wrap-around move to beat Boston goalie Tim Thomas for the victory:

The first game of the Stanley Cup Finals came down to a rather dramatic finish with a goal by Vancouver's Raffi Torres in the final thirty seconds of the third period to take home the victory.

In the world that we live in, no one is perfect but someone controlling the NBC feed is not having a great day today.

Will The Stanley Cup Return To Canada, This Year?

Tonight, the Stanley Cup Finals begin as the Boston Bruins face off against the Vancouver Canucks to have a chance to hoist the Stanley Cup. The Bruins have not won a Stanley Cup since 1972 and many fans still feel the pain of 1990 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

However for the nation of Canada, it's been nearly seventeen years since any Canadian team has hoisted the cup. The last team to do so was the 1993 Montreal Canadiens led by coach Jacques Demers. Since that victory, four Canadian teams have made the Stanley Cup Finals and none were successful in claiming the cup.

In a sport, that is so popular in the great white north, it's still somewhat of a national tragedy when the Carolina Hurricanes/Tampa Bay Lightning/and Anaheim Ducks have claimed trophies in recent memory and the Toronto Maple Leafs/Edmonton Oilers/and Montreal Canadiens have not.

This year might be Canada's best shot in reclaiming the cup, Vancouver's goaltender Roberto Luongo was the goaltender for the Canadian national team during the Winter Olympics and he might be the deciding factor in a series that features Boston's prevalent defense making it hard for offensive talent like Mason Raymond/The Sedin Twins/and Ryan Kesler.

The Bruins are going to be a formidable opponent for Canucks offense but the one possible weakness is goaltender Tim Thomas who has had a rather up and down playoffs so far but if the Bruins defense shuts down the Canucks, Thomas will not need to perform at such a high level.

For the common fan, it's a series everyone wants to see, Offense vs. Defense, USA vs. Canada, and even, 17 year drought vs. 28 year drought. All I know for sure is that one of those droughts will end and for Canada's sake, Vancouver better be the victor or it will be another year that the national sport will not claim the highest trophy in the land.

Keith Ballard Hip-Checks Jamie McGinn Rather Impressively

The Vancouver Canucks are only one game away from appearing in their first Stanley Cup Finals since 1994.

During game four of their series against the San Jose Sharks, Vancouver's Keith Ballard did a rather impressive hip-check on San Jose's Jamie McGinn:



I think McGinn got at least two seconds of airtime.

Vancouver Canucks Fans Parody Cee Lo Green's "Forget You"

As it has been noted in the past, I'm not really a big fan of these fan parody music videos.

However, this one parodying Cee Lo Green "Forget You" by these Vancouver Canucks fans might actual change my mind.
