The Weekend & Accessorize Makeup

So I mentioned in a previous post that I had a girl's night last Friday and I totally forgot that I had taken pics to show you what I wore, my hair and makeup etc.  It will also give you an idea of how my weightloss is coming along.  I weigh myself every Wednesday morning so I'm excited to see what I have lost.  I can feel that I have lost some more weight so whether it's 1lb or 2lbs, I will be happy with that because I am feeling super fit now and that's what really matters.  For the first time in years, I don't have to hold my stomach in constantly!ha ha.

I decided to wear one of the dresses that I got from Maddie (my mother-in-law) when I was back in Ireland.  I love how flattering this dress is on my figure because it clings to all the right places.  Sorry about the bad quality of the pic above, I didn't have time to faff around with the timer and I'm hoping to get an SLR in the future!  But I think you can still get an idea of what the outfit looked like.  I decided to team the dress with a cute little bow belt just to accentuate my waist a bit more.

I initially styled my hair with large barrel tongs and gave it loads of volume with some back-combing.  BUT then, on a whim, I decided to do something a bit different.  I hardly ever wear my hair in a ponytail, well, except when I scrape it back in the gym but that doesn't count!  Sometimes I am too much of a perfectionist so I wanted to wear a slightly more messy, low ponytail with some volume at the crown.  I back-combed my longer layers at the front to create a messy side fringe.  I just kept the makeup fresh and simple with pale pink eyeshadow (from the New CID Cosmetics eyeshadow quad in Laguna) and contoured the eye with a bit of Mac Satin Taupe.  I had forgotten how much I love to wear a full top lashline of black eyeliner.  It makes my eyes look so much bigger!  For the lips I just wore Mac High Tea and RMK lipgloss in Gold.

I always ummm and errr about doing an OOTD because I don't consider my 'style' to be cutting edge or particularly dynamic.  However, I have had a few emails recently asking me to do then so of course I will oblige if that's what some of you want.  This outfit was just really casual because I was feeling slightly hungover and was just going for lunch with my mum, then home for the weekend.

I was wearing jeggings from New Look, Studded Vest Top By Reiss, Longline white shirt by H&M, Skinny Tan Belt by Next, Black Studded Peep-Toe Shoe Boots by Next, Tan Leather Biker Jacket by La Redoute and Black Basket Weave Bag by Warehouse.

I was sent some of the new Accessorize makeup items to try out recently and I have to say that I am really impressed by how they look/swatch.  Makeup collections brought out by high street clothes stores can be hit or miss (normally miss) so it was great to see the variety of colours and pretty packaging.  This post will just be a very brief overview of what I was sent but I will follow up with some review posts in the next few days.  I will try and do a FOTD using the products to give you a better idea of how they look once applied.

There are 5 collections in total (Exotic Brights, Illusion, Je t'aime, With Love and Rock Chic) and prices start at only £3! I think that is brilliant value for money given what I've seen of the products so far.  I have included the prices for each item below.  The range is available to buy at Accessorize and selected Superdrug stores.

Merged Baked Blusher in Starlet (£5)

Single Eyeshadow in Soft Pink & Mermaid (£4 each)

Rock Star Baked Duo Eyeshadows in Break Up (Ivory and Silver)
& Rock Out (Rose Gold and Brown)
£4 each.

Lipstick in Vintage Rose (£5)

Illusion Diamond Lip Gloss in Crush (Coral) & Diva (Fuschia)
£4

Exotic Brights Neon Eye Dust in Gold Leaf
£3

Have you tried the Accessorize Makeup yet? What were your thoughts?

I had forgotten how much I liked this song until I randomly heard it on the radio this morning.  I always find myself singing along!   I can never believe that voice comes from Plan B - he looks like such a tough guy, then he comes out with this sweet singing voice!ha ha.
